NAFFCO wins the biggest corporate team in EHS Fun Run 2014

National Firefighting Manufacturing (NAFFCO) won the biggest corporate team in the second edition of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Fun Run held on February 21, 2014 at the Jebel Ali Freezone. Of the 692 registered runners from 73 companies and offices operating within Jebel Ali Freezone, Techno Park, DMCC, Palm Jumeira, Jumeira Lakes Towers and other development sites regulated by Trakhees, 70 are from NAFFCO, a high record demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment in its involvement to promote environmental awareness.

EHS Fun Run 2014 is organized to celebrate the month of UAE Environment Day held on the month of February of each year spearheaded by Dr. Hamad Al Falasi, Manager of the Environment and Public Health Safety Department of Trakhees.

During the event, Dr. Falasi, in his speech, appreciated the whole delegation “for committing into something that will truly benefit the environment.” He expressed, “win or lose in the competition, everybody is a winner for doing something for the protection of the environment.”

The proceeds of the EHS Fun Run 2014 will be used to support the on-going environmental programs started by Trakhees such as the coral enrichment initiatives in partnership with Atlantis, fish releasing activities supported by the Ministry of Environment and Water (MOEW) among many others.

NAFFCO will continue to support sports activities like EHS Fun Run as a platform to promote environmental awareness.
